Dante suffers from a dangerous psychological disorder that he was cursed with from birth, a diagnosis known in the medical field only as "a missing funny bone". It isn't until Dante is house sitting with his polar opposite, Joseph, that he finds himself trapped in the hot, sweaty grip of his humorless conscience. What ultimately nudges Dante closer and closer to the edge of his own self delusions is, in fact, a punch line.
Bio: Joseph is an American director, screenwriter and producer, born and raised in the suburbs of New Jersey. He is a director of narrative films, music videos, and commercials with roots in low-budget productions. His last two project were Kingwood (2016) and X’s on Trees (2015), which he both wrote and directed with the help of his fellow peers and collaborators with whom he often works. His inspirations come from the great works of Stanley Kubrick, David Fincher, and Paul Thomas Anderson. He is a firm believer in working with his peers and staying loyal to those who believe in his work.
Set in the early 1900s, the details of a young woman's love affair are discovered putting her future and life in danger.
Bio: Nicole Rosas is a filmmaker, writer, and actor dedicated to bringing under-represented stories to the screen. She has studied with seasoned actors and filmmakers across North America; including oscar-winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter, The Big Short). Interested in working in all genres of film, "Abnegation" is Nicole's first foray into period-specific, dramatic storytelling. 2018 will bring new challenges as she steps behind the camera to direct her first feature-length film.

Bio: Born in Switzerland in 1974, Rafael Sommerhalder studied Film Direction at ECAL in Lausanne and Animation at the Royal College of Art in London. He lives and works as an animator/filmmaker in Zurich, Switzerland.

"If the sin is serious, the suffering is great." B. Brecht. Not to lose her job and the room she lives in, Lena, a live-in house maid, hides her pregnancy from the family she works for. After childbirth, she is led to take drastic action.
Bio: Gustavo Leopoldo Orlandi Maryssael de Campos was born in Jundiaí, a small city close to the capital of the state, São Paulo, in the first march of 1995. He graduated in Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro, located in Valinhos, in 2012. In the next year, 2013, he moved to São Paulo to study for college. In 2014, began to study Law at the University of PUC-SP, where he stayed for only two years and didn`t graduated. After that, he started studding History in the University of São Paulo, where he is still studding. In 2016, Gustavo started a technical course in cinematographic direction in Academia Internacional de Cinema, in which he graduated by the end of 2017. Nowadays, Gustavo works as assistant of the filmmaker Marcelo Gomes.

Bio: Michael Blomquist is a screenwriter, comedian and film director from Indianapolis, Indiana and currently active in Los Angeles, California. He discovered and fostered a passion for storytelling from an early age, and his experiences in comedy writing and performance in college only furthered his resolve to spend his life making people think, laugh and feel professionally. Blomquist, a 2016 graduate of Indiana University with Bachelor's degrees in Telecommunications Design & Production and Scriptwriting, devotes most of his time as a writer to a growing cache of feature film scripts. He is also active as a director and producer of his own short films.

A christmas tree experiences the true horrors of the holiday season. With this short film, I aim to accomplish three things:
1. Create an entertaining cinematic experience.
2. Raise awareness on the consciousness of Plant Life.
3. Shop an idea for a feature length vegetarian horror film.
Bio: Born in West Virginia, Morgan Miller grew up on cinema and graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Film and Photography. His first love was Disney's classic Jungle Book (1967) but it wasn't until he saw The Evil Dead (1981) that he took aspirations on being a filmmaker. Since completing his studies, Morgan has worked as a documentary filmmaker, writer, and has been a teaching assistant to further his knowledge of filmmaking . Morgan also owns and operates a small business in Davis, WV - Trailhead Coffeeshop.

Bio: Andrew studied graphic design and video production at Frostburg State University. After graduating college, he spent several years designing multimedia. He also taught courses at a local college where he shared his experience with first year visual design students. In 2009, Andrew developed a passion for writing and began authoring short stories. In 2012, he began teaching himself how to write for film. After much trial and error, he has now successfully written, produced, and directed three short films including the award winning film "Unfinished". Andrew is currently writing two short screenplays, a feature length screenplay, and a children's book.
